We will move to Alboraya, the birthplace of the chufa, where we will visit a field of the tiger nut and observe how and where the most famous drink of Valencia is produced.
In this tour we will discover all the secrets about the cultivation of tigernuts in Valencia and the elaboration of horchata labelled as (DO) Designation of Origin Chufa of Valencia.
We will start the tour visiting one of the storage buildings or “cambras” where the tigernuts are stored in order to dry them after the recollection. We will learn all the processes that are followed by the farmers from the traditional cultivation until the drying, washing and selection of the tigernuts. Then, we will head to the fields to see the tigernuts in its real season and finally we will enjoy together a delicious meal based on the traditional valencian cuisine.
It is recommended to bring water and a snack for the morning
