This year is celebrated in the city of <\/span>Valencia <\/b>the second <\/span>jubilee year <\/b>that began in October\u00a0 2020 and will last <\/span>until October 2021<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the <\/span>Cathedral of Valencia <\/b><\/a>it's located since the fifteenth century one of the most admired relics\u00a0 by Christianity: the <\/span>Holy Chalice<\/b>, which is said to be the same cup that Jesus Christ\u00a0 drank during the Last Supper. For this reason, <\/span>Pope Francis <\/b>granted the city of Valencia the\u00a0 honour of celebrating the Jubilee Holy Year every five years and declaring it one of the <\/span>holy cities of Christianity.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

The Holy Chalice is also known as the <\/span>Holy Grail<\/b>, whose name derives from the French \"Sang\u00a0 R\u00e8al\"<\/em>, that is, \"royal blood\" which refers to Jesus Christ's blood, who was a descendent of kings.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After the Last Supper, the chalice moved to west bound for Rome. Later, he travelled to the Kingdom\u00a0 of Aragon, where he remained hidden for several years in the monastery of <\/span>San Juan de la\u00a0 Pe\u00f1a <\/b>to protect it, at the request of Pope San Sixto. In the 15<\/span>th <\/span>century, it finally moved to\u00a0 Valencia.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Next to the Holy Chalice, <\/span>two relics <\/b>of the Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ are preserved in Valencia: one of the <\/span>thorns of the crown <\/b>that Roman soldiers put to Jesus during his Passion, and a <\/span>fragment of the cross <\/b>of Jesus called Cruz de la Vera.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Jubilee:<\/b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

During this period of grace, you can get the <\/span>jubilee <\/b>but, what is it and how can you get it? <\/span><\/p>\n

It\u00a0 is a celebration that has its origin in the Old Testament and consists in forgiving and not judging others <\/span>to achieve plenary indulgence<\/b>. To do this, a series of actions must be carried\u00a0 out throughout the year, including:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Make a pilgrimage<\/b>, once at least, to Valencia visiting the Holy Chalice and the Cathedral.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Confess<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Pray<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Participate in the <\/span>Eucharist<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Celebrate the sacrament of <\/span>penance<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The pilgrim\u2019s masses are celebrated on Sundays at 12:00 pm and on Thursdays at 8:00 pm in the Cathedral of Valencia, to obtain the indulgence.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
