Experience ¨Las Fallas¨ from inside the Ciudad del Artista Fallero in Benicalap!
Celebrate the 10th anniversary of Las Fallas being declared UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity!
In 2026, Valencia’s Las Fallas will mark the 10th anniversary of its UNESCO recognition as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity — a milestone that honors the creativity, community, and cultural significance of this extraordinary festival. This anniversary is the perfect occasion to experience Fallas not just as a spectator, but as an active participant in a living artistic and craft tradition.
This opportunity to explore the City of the Fallas Artist begins with a departure from Valencia’s city center to the neighborhood of Benicalap, home to the Artisan Guild of Fallas Artists. Participants will immerse themselves in the local culture of the festival, learning about the artistic and artisanal craft of ¨Las Fallas¨. Next, a guided tour of the Fallas Artist Museum reveals the heart of the festival through the ninots indultats (miniature sculpted figures traditionally part of Fallas monuments)— figures saved from the flames for their artistic value, satire, and historical significance. Each piece tells a story, showing how the Fallas monuments reflect the city’s humor, creativity, and collective identity — qualities that earned UNESCO recognition.
After the visit, the most exciting and creative part of the day begins: bringing your own ninot to life. In the Fallas workshop, you’ll discover the secrets and techniques behind these monumental figures, from initial imagination to the final detail. Guided by expert artisans, you’ll have the unique opportunity to create your own mini ninot, taking home not just a souvenir, but a piece directly connected to Fallas tradition.
Make your Fallas experience even more special by personalizing it with one of two delicious options: start the morning with a traditional Valencian “esmorzaret” brunch, including a full bocadillo, coffee, and a drink before the activities, or close your visit with a paella menu, featuring Iberico meats to share, a fresh salad, paella, dessert, beverage, and coffee. And if you’re feeling hungry or motivated, you can enjoy both for a full Valencian culinary experience! Whichever you choose, it’s a perfect way to savor the flavors of Valencia while celebrating the creativity, craft, and festive spirit of Las Fallas.
