The Contemporary Art Center Hortensia Herrero is one of Valencia’s most exciting cultural destinations, housed in the beautifully restored 17th‑century Valeriola Palace in the heart of the city.

This unique art space showcases a remarkable private collection assembled by benefactor Hortensia Herrero, featuring works by more than 50 internationally renowned contemporary artists. Across 17 exhibition rooms spread over 3,500 m², visitors encounter paintings, sculptures and installations by artists such as Anselm Kiefer, Anish Kapoor, Tony Cragg and Andreas Gursky, alongside pieces created especially for the center’s historic architecture.

The visit also reveals archaeological remains beneath the palace, including traces of the Roman circus of Valencia and historic neighbourhood elements, creating a rich dialogue between past and present. A two‑hour visit offers an immersive cultural experience that blends cutting‑edge art with Valencia’s heritage and architectural beauty.
